The Client

Road Scholars is a Raleigh-based automobile restoration shop that specializes in restoring and selling rare and collectible cars.  In three years, the shop has won 18 restoration awards and is the only award-winning restoration shop on the East Coast. In 2011, the company won 1st in class at the internationally renowned Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The Situation

In 2008, the owners of Road Scholars wanted to improve and refine their brand.  At the time, they were beginning to build a reputation as the guys who could locate the rarest cars from the most discriminating owners and collections around the country.  Plus, they were about to launch a new restoration service that catered to the most sophisticated collectors.

But, their brand didn’t match their work.

Their website was out of date and their ads looked like something out of Auto Trader magazine.  So, they started calling local ad agencies.

We met with the owners and listened to their story.

Then, we came back with an idea for a new ad that spoke directly to their target audience.  Lucky for us, they loved it.  And so began a relationship that continues  today.

The Outcome

Since 2008, we have helped Road Scholars with every part of their marketing — online and off.  We’ve been with this small and growing company every step of the way as they’ve added new services, competed at the international level and broken industry records.

From show preparation, t-shirts and brochures, to a complete web redesign, we’ve helped Road Scholars change their image from “used car salesman” to “collectible car statesmen.”
