FatCat does more than just sales sheets and case studies!
Often, a postcard, flyer, or brochure just doesn’t cut it, and our clients need a more comprehensive and robust publication. That’s why we also design long-format publications to help our clients solve problems, show off their work, and improve their sales process.
Below are some examples of publications we’ve completed, as well as insights into the development process behind them.

[panel title="Classic Car Restoration Book"]
The client
Road Scholars, restores and sells historically-significant collectible cars. The company also helps its customers show those cars at international competitions.
Recently, Road Scholars restored the 44th Porsche ever made — a 1950 Gmund Coupe — for none other than the grandson of Porsche’s inventor, Hans Peter Porsche.
After a two-year restoration project, Road Scholars showed the car at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and took home the trophy for 1st in class.
The idea
As Road Scholars marketing department, FatCat suggested an idea for a custom coffee table book that would document and celebrate this incredible achievement. Our idea was to create a book that could serve two important purposes:
- As a thank you gift to the car’s owner
- As a marketing, or showcase, piece for Road Scholars
The result
Road Scholars provided us with full background and history of this special car, along with historical photos. They also provided us with documentation and photos of the complete restoration process. In an effort to create a more complete book and establish a historical framework for this car, FatCat also researched and designed a section on various facts and events from 1950. The book ends with photos and information about Road Scholars exciting 1st in class win at Pebble Beach

[panel title="Pool Buyers' Guide"]
The client
Pool Professionals designs and builds beautiful, completely custom residential pools in the Raleigh area.
The challenge
Generating new leads for custom pool buyers is a tall challenge. And, once you have a new lead, the sales process can be long and complex. Potential buyers understand that a custom pool is a a significant investment, and the construction process can be messy and disruptive. That means they have lots of questions and concerns and don’t make decisions lightly or quickly.
FatCat suggested creating a Pool Buyers Guide that would serve two purposes:
- It could be used as a sales tool during in-person appointments with prospects
- It could be used as a lead-generation tool from Pool Professionals’ website (prospects fill out their contact info in exchange for a free, no-obligation Pool Buyer’s Guide)
The result
For this project, FatCat researched, wrote, and designed a comprehensive guide that gives the prospects information about the pool design and construction process, and also addresses some common concerns.
The booklet you see below consistently generates new leads from the client’s website. And, it has helped standardize sales appointments and create educated buyers.

[panel title="Meet & Greet Booklet"]
The client
Financial Symmetry, located in Raleigh, is an employee-owned firm that provides financial planning, investment management, and wealth management services for individuals and their families on a fee-only basis.
The challenge
Several years ago, the firm’s partners were struggling with how much time they were spending on meetings with new prospects. Because of the nature of financial advisory services, prospects’ questions tend to be complex and the answers can be equally complicated. As a result, these meetings would often last 2 hours or longer.
Financial Symmetry asked FatCat to create a document that would:
- standardize the information provided in prospect meetings
- quickly provide an overview of the financial planning process
- limit the amount of “free advice” given to non-clients
- shorten the meetings to 45-minutes
The result
The booklet you see above has been in use for over 3 years now and has been very effective at helping Financial Symmetry’s partners conduct effective and efficient prospect meetings.

Brytons asked FatCat for help designing a bath remodel guide that would serve two purposes:

- It could be used as a lead-generation tool from Brytons’ website (prospects fill out their contact info in exchange for a free, no-obligation Bath Remodel Guide.)
The result
